The Bamenda I Council is pleased to inform the public and community stakeholders that during its official Budgetary Session held on December 13, 2024, at the Council Chambers, the Municipal Councilors gathered to deliberate and establish the municipality’s financial framework for the 2025 fiscal year.

In strict conformity with Sections 165–196 of Law No. 2019/024 of 24th December 2019 instituting the General Code of Regional and Local Authorities, the Council unanimously passed Deliberation No. 01/12/DEL/B1C/BS/2024. Continuing our trajectory of civic growth, the 2025 budget stands balanced in both revenue and expenditure at 1,100,000,000 FCFA (One billion one hundred million FCFA).

Highlights of the 2025 Budgetary Session

  • Unanimous Adoption: The draft budget of 1.1 Billion FCFA was carefully reviewed and voted on unanimously by the sitting councilors.

  • Active Representation: Out of 30 councilors in office, 27 were present in person during the plenary session, with 3 councilors represented by proxy.

  • Leadership & Executive Approval: The session was held under the leadership of Mayor Mbigha Njah Felix alongside Secretary General Fru Blessing Neh. Formal approval was granted by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh.

Implementation & Local Impact

As outlined in Article 2 of the deliberation, the Mayor, the Secretary General, and the Municipal Treasurer are each tasked within their respective spheres with the immediate, transparent implementation of this budget.

This increased financial layout for 2025 emphasizes the Council’s firm commitment to accelerating sustainable local development, strengthening public infrastructure, and providing enhanced municipal services across the Bamenda I Sub-Division.

We are pleased to announce that the Municipal Councillors of the Bamenda 1 Council have officially adopted the 2023 Administrative Accounts.

The session, which took place on May 2, 2024, was held in the Bamenda 1 Council hall under the leadership of the Mayor, Mr. Mbigha Njah Felix, and in accordance with Law No. 2019/024 of December 24, 2019, regarding the General Code of Regional and Local Authorities.
Financial Summary for 2023

During the deliberation, the following financial figures for the 2023 fiscal year were presented and adopted:

  • Total Revenue: 583,349,088 Francs CFA
  • Total Expenditure: 513,035,569 Francs CFA
  • Total Surplus: 70,313,519 Francs CFA

The Mayor, the Secretary General, and the Municipal Treasurer have been charged with the implementation of this deliberation. This record has been duly registered, published, and communicated as required.

The Bamenda I Council is thrilled to share a major milestone with the public and residents of the sub-division: during the official Budgetary Session held on December 21, 2023, in the Council Chambers, the Municipal Councilors voted to adopt a historic financial plan for the 2024 fiscal year.

Convened in full compliance with Sections 165–196 of Law No. 2019/024 of 24th December 2019 bearing on the General Code of Regional and Local Authorities, the Council passed Deliberation No. 01/12/DEL/B1C/BS/2023. For the first time, the Council’s budget has reached a landmark balance in revenue and expenditure at 1,000,000,000 FCFA (One Billion FCFA).

Promotion of Disability Inclusive Development and Safeguarding Award to Bamenda 1 Council

Bamenda 1 Council under the leadership of Mayor Mbigha Njah Felix has been Awarded for promoting Disability Inclusive Development and Safeguarding in the Northwest Region, Cameroon.

Throughout the years since Mbingha Njah Felix came to power as Mayor of Bamenda 1 Council, the municipality has witnessed a lot of changes in relation to disabled persons inclusion from building and renovating schools and hospitals with disabled persons of all sorts taken into consideration and carrying out social projects  distributing capital equipment to the vulnerable and disabled alike. Staffs of the Council working with Mayor Mbigha in service of Bamenda 1 municipality principally and the Northwest region entirely are looking forth to be   more disabled inclusive given activities and projects combined where people with disability have access to social and development benefits like everyone else in their communities with inclusion of marginalized people in development processes. The Council is also working on  reducing poverty and building resilient communities of able and disabled persons alike.

We held on the 19th of November 2022 a budgetary session for the year 2023 and voted a budget which stands at a balance in revenue and expenditure at seven hundred and seventy nine million, four hundred thousand francs CFA  (779,400,000FCFA) which is divided as recurrent revenue, recurrent investment, recurrent expenditure and investment expenditure. This budget is aimed at realizing several projects in the year 2023. Amongst these projects are Extension of electricity from Ntoh to Ntahmeleh to Nkah quarters, Equipping of the Bamenda I Sub Divisional hospital theater, Supply of a grader SHANTUI, Opening and grading of road and construction of culverts from Ta Tighe’s entrance through Pa Ndifor to GTHS Bamendankwe and Construction of a borehole with a solar pump at the Bamenda I market/park just to name a few.

                Mayor Mbigha Njah Felix assured that there will be constant supply of water in Bamenda I Council area as the Council has been working on that since 2021 while also working to beautify Bamendankwe and the Gas Plant under construction at Ntahfubuh is thanks to the peace and tranquility that we have within the municipality.

                The council is also projecting income generating activities as well as employment opportunities for the youthful population of Bamendankwe.

The Bamenda I Council is pleased to inform the general public and municipal stakeholders that during the official Budgetary Session held on November 9, 2022, in the Council Chambers, the Councilors convened to deliberate upon and adopt the financial strategy for the 2023 fiscal year.

In strict conformity with Sections 165–196 of Law No. 2019/024 of 24th December 2019 instituting the General Code of Regional and Local Authorities, the Council unanimously passed Deliberation No. 01/11/DEL/B1C/BS/2022. The adopted 2023 budget stands balanced in both revenue and expenditure at the total sum of 779,400,000 FCFA (Seven hundred seventy-nine million four hundred thousand FCFA).
