Empowering Our Community: Bamenda I Council Adopts Balanced Budget of 482 Million FCFA for Fiscal Year 2020!
The Bamenda I Council is pleased to inform the public that during its official Budgetary Session held on November 27, 2019, at the Council Chambers, the Councilors unanimously deliberated and passed Deliberation No. 01/DEL/B1C/BS/2020.
In strict adherence to Law No. 2004/018 of 22nd July 2004 governing councils, the Council has officially voted and adopted a balanced budget in revenue and expenditure for the 2020 fiscal year amounting to 482,029,659 FCFA (Four hundred and eighty-two million, twenty-nine thousand, six hundred and fifty-nine FCFA).
Highlights of the 2020 Budgetary Session

Focus on Development: Prioritizing community-driven progress, 40% of the total budget has been explicitly earmarked for capital investment and local development initiatives across the municipality.

Democratic Representation: Out of 31 total Councilors, 28 were present in the open session to scrutinize, debate, and adopt the budget parameters.

Institutional Approval: The deliberation, signed by the Lord Mayor Caroline Bi Bongwa and Secretary General Ntam Victor Chia, has received formal approval from the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh.
Implementation Strategy
As stipulated in Article 2 of the deliberation, the execution of this budget will be overseen by the Mayor, the Secretary General, and the Municipal Treasurer to ensure transparent management and timely completion of key projects.
