Fostering Community Growth: Bamenda I Council Adopts 779.4 Million FCFA Budget for Fiscal Year 2023!
The Bamenda I Council is pleased to inform the general public and municipal stakeholders that during the official Budgetary Session held on November 9, 2022, in the Council Chambers, the Councilors convened to deliberate upon and adopt the financial strategy for the 2023 fiscal year.
In strict conformity with Sections 165–196 of Law No. 2019/024 of 24th December 2019 instituting the General Code of Regional and Local Authorities, the Council unanimously passed Deliberation No. 01/11/DEL/B1C/BS/2022. The adopted 2023 budget stands balanced in both revenue and expenditure at the total sum of 779,400,000 FCFA (Seven hundred seventy-nine million four hundred thousand FCFA).
Key Highlights of the Session

Unanimous Support: The draft budget for 2023 was scrutinized and voted on unanimously by the sitting councilors present in plenary.

Council Representation: Out of 30 total councilors in office, 26 attended the open session in person, with 3 councilors represented by proxy.

Executive Oversight: The proceedings were conducted under the leadership of Mayor Mbigha Njah Felix. Official approval was subsequently granted by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh.

This balanced budget reflects the Council’s ongoing commitment to enhancing local governance, improving civic infrastructure, and delivering essential social services across the Bamenda I Sub-Division throughout 2023.
