Building a Brighter Tomorrow: Bamenda I Council Adopts Record 889 FCFA Million Budget for 2022!
The Bamenda I Council is proud to announce to the general public and all residents of the municipality that during the official Budgetary Session held on December 31, 2021 (following initial plenary deliberations on December 16, 2021), the Councilors convened to vote and formally adopt the municipality’s financial roadmap for the 2022 fiscal year.
Acting in full alignment with Sections 165–196 of Law No. 2019/024 of 24th December 2019 instituting the General Code of Regional and Local Authorities, the Council passed Deliberation No. 01/DEL/B1C/BS/2022. The 2021 session concluded with the unanimous adoption of a balanced budget in both revenue and expenditure set at 889,988,456 FCFA (Eight hundred and eighty-nine million, nine hundred and eighty-eight thousand, four hundred and fifty-six FCFA).
Highlights of the 2022 Budgetary Session

Unanimous Approval: The budget was voted on and adopted unanimously to address the growing development, infrastructure, and social needs of the sub-division.

Active Representation: Out of 31 total Councilors in office, 28 were present in person during the plenary discussions, with 2 represented by proxy.

Institutional Leadership: The session was led by the Mayor, Mr. Mbigha Njah Felix, alongside Secretary General Tebid Edith Endam, with final administrative approval granted by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh.

This record budget allocation reflects the Council’s strong determination to drive sustainable local development, empower communities, and enhance service delivery across the Bamenda I municipality throughout 2022.
